Cover Story 33 – NYC Meetup

Join us at Washington Square Park August 7th at 7PM! Keep an eye on social media for updates and details.

Hello, Kakos Industries Shareholders. My name is Conrad Miszuk, and, if you believe the cover story, then I am the creator of Kakos Industries. If you don’t believe the cover story, then you are not chewing your vitamins like you should.

Thank you for pardoning out dust as we transitioned to a new website. It wasn’t pretty, and there were some problems at first, but everything should be better now. Let us know if you’re still having any problems. And I’ll talk a little bit more about the errors later in the cover story.

We have decided to schedule our New York City Meet Up for Monday, August 7th in Washington Square Park at 7PM. Keep an eye on our website and social media for more details. We want to meet with as many of you as possible, so please let us know when you’re available.

Also, we’re going to be retiring the music pledge level on our Patreon. Pledging at $3 or above will still give you access to the music forever, but we want to free up the music so we can share it more and hopefully drum up more interest in the show and my music at the same time. Look for it on our YouTube channel and kakosindustries.com/music. Patreon will still be the cheapest place to get it, though. Instead of music at $3, we’re going to now be offering early access to the episodes. Whenever possible, we’ll give patrons at this level or above the episodes early, because we like them so much. We did it this month as a surprise, but we’re going to keep it going.

Now, some of you might have ended up with quite a few new episode of Kakos that were in fact old episodes of Kakos. This has to do with how Drupal and WordPress handle dashes. The dash on your keyboard, I recently found out, is not in fact a dash that we use in typography. It is somewhere in between the dash used for showing ranges of things, like saying A-Z, and the en and em dashes, named for their size relative to the letters N and M in your font. Drupal was happy to let me keep using the wrong dash forever. WordPress, which we use now for the website, automatically corrects the dash so it looks better. Thus, the smallest difference possible in the names of the episodes has convinced itunes and most other podcasting apps that they are in fact different episodes. At this point, it could probably be changed back, but the damage has been done. I apologize for any inconvenience. You may need to delete those other episodes manually if you automatically download and things should be normal from here on. Or keep them as special, limited edition episodes. The holographic episodes. The shiny episodes. It’s up to you. The content is identical.

As always, you are the best listeners of all time. Thank you for listening to us.
